Starting a project
Do I need a finished plan before I contact you?
No. Share the rooms, the address and a little about what is not working. We will help identify what needs to be decided before the work can be priced and scheduled.
What happens after I send the form?
We review what you shared and get back to you to talk through the rooms, the timing and whether a designer is involved. When it makes sense, the next step is a visit to the house.
What does a project cost?
Each project is priced for the specific house, scope and selections. The form asks for a budget range, with Not sure yet as an option, so the first conversation can be useful.
How soon can you start?
It depends on the current schedule and on how ready the design and selections are. Share your timing on the form and we will give you a straight answer.
How long has Colitz been in business?
Colitz Construction has served the Atlanta Metro since 1991, and the company has been BBB accredited since 1995.
Working with a designer
Do you work with interior designers?
Yes. We work from the approved drawings and bring questions back to the designer rather than making aesthetic substitutions on site. The form lets you name your designer, or tell us you are the designer.
Do I need a designer to work with you?
No. Many homeowners begin with an idea. We will help you shape the scope, and if the project would benefit from design drawings, we will say so early.
Construction and scope
Can we live at home during the renovation?
Usually, yes. Protection, access and cleanup are planned around the people living there, and we talk through which rooms will be out of service before work begins.
Who will we be working with?
Steve Colitz and his team. You will know who is coordinating the work and where decisions go.
What happens if something unexpected turns up?
You hear about it early, with options and the implications in writing, before the next step is taken.
Do you build hidden rooms, theaters and private bars?
When the design and the house call for them. We plan these rooms with your designer and, for a theater, your audiovisual specialist. Tell us what you have in mind and we will talk through what the house can support.
Are the photographs on this site Colitz projects?
Yes. Photographs in the gallery and on the service pages show Colitz work, and in-progress photos are labeled. If an illustration is ever used to explain an idea, it is labeled Concept image.
